Project Juddhaven Boathouse
CUSTOM BOATHOUSE BUILD
Nestled along the water, the Juddhaven Boathouse was designed with a coastal aesthetic and high-performance craftsmanship to withstand the humid lakeside environment. Across both the upper and lower levels, our millwork balances durability with sophisticated, functional design.
Lower Boathouse
The lower level features a white oak TV slat wall and minimalist cabinetry, adding depth and texture to the space while maintaining a clean, modern look. The cabinetry interiors are built to our boathouse standard, using ¾” marine-grade mahogany with solid mahogany dovetail drawers and waterproof glue to ensure long-lasting durability in the high-moisture environment. The cabinet doors are crafted from ¾” marine-grade MDF and painted in Benjamin Moore’s ‘Charcoal Slate’ for a timeless yet bold contrast.
We also constructed the custom banquette seating, designed for both comfort and function. The talented team at The Local Studio, led by Kristi Bails, selected the finishes, while Bails Studio created the matching dining table and stools.
Upper Boathouse
Upstairs, the kitchenette millwork was designed to seamlessly integrate both form and function. Key appliances, including the AC unit and fridge, are cleverly concealed within custom oak cabinetry, maintaining a streamlined aesthetic without sacrificing practicality. The floor-to-ceiling oak cabinets provide ample storage, while the slatted upper cabinet serves as a hidden vent for the AC, proving that beautiful millwork can also be smartly engineered.
With its custom oak detailing and refined coastal aesthetic, the Juddhaven Boathouse is one of our most thoughtfully crafted projects, merging expert craftsmanship with a warm, functional, and beautifully designed lakeside retreat.
