Project Jack Pine Cottage
CUSTOM COTTAGE BUILD
For this countryside retreat, we designed and built custom millwork throughout the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms, ensuring that every detail complemented the home’s warm, inviting character.
The kitchen millwork was crafted with both function and aesthetics in mind. A custom plaster range hood serves as a focal point, designed to fit seamlessly with the ventilation system while adding a textural element to the space. Constructed from moisture-resistant MDF and veneer core, the structure was finished with layers of hand-applied limewash plaster, creating a durable, matte surface that enhances the kitchen’s timeless feel.
In the living room, a set of floor-to-ceiling white oak cabinets anchors the space, offering a balanced mix of open shelving and hidden storage. The custom-built shelves were designed to showcase the homeowner’s collection of antique treasures, while the banquette-style seating integrates seamlessly with the surrounding cabinetry for a cozy yet refined look.
The bathroom vanity reflects the same attention to detail, with a partial Shaker-style design finished in Benjamin Moore’s ‘Copley Gray.’ Built using paint-grade maple and MDF, the frameless cabinetry pairs beautifully with Caesarstone’s ‘Primordia’ countertop, featuring an Ogee edge and custom backsplash for added elegance and functionality.
In the laundry room, a moody, English country-inspired design takes center stage. The frameless cabinetry, painted in Benjamin Moore’s ‘North Creek Brown,’ is complemented by Caesarstone’s ‘Black Tempal’ countertop, complete with integrated electrical outlets for a seamless workspace.
Jack Pine Cottage embodies a perfect blend of comfort, craftsmanship, and character, where every detail—whether structural or decorative—was carefully considered to enhance the home’s charm and livability.
